Exalt Music Ministry Conference 2016

Friday 14 – Saturday 15 October 2016

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” — Romans 15:5–6

Christians are united as God’s saved children. And church is an expression of that unity: we praise God not just on our own, but with brothers and sisters, looking forward to a life eternally united with each other and with our one Lord Jesus.

But we don’t always feel united. Whether it’s with our music teams or with our congregations, our diversity often seems to create disunity.

So how do we maintain genuine unity in the gospel? And how can we embrace the diversity that God has given us to bring glory to him in the way we serve our churches?

Exalt aims to equip pastors, leaders, musicians, singers, and sound technicians to make music that builds our churches and exalts our great God and glorious Saviour.

At Exalt 2016, we’ll be focusing on how to do that as God’s children united in Christ.

Speaker & Guest Artist

Rory Shiner

Rory Shiner was born and raised in Western Australia. He is husband to Susan and father to four boys. He studied Arts at UWA and Theology at Moore College in Sydney, and now pastors at Providence City Church. He is involved in student ministry, pastoral work, church planting and writing, and regularly contributes to the Langham Partnership preaching program in Thailand.

Greg Cooper

Guest Artist

Based in Sydney, Greg spends part of his week songwriting and producing albums for EMU (Evangelical Music). He also works with Effective Ministry researching the role of church music in discipleship and church growth. Recently Greg served as Music Director at Christ Church St Ives for a number of years, and has enjoyed leading workshops at music ministry training events throughout Australia, South East Asia, and South Africa.  Greg loves playing music – he was part of worship band Garage Hymnal for the last 10 years, and has released a number of solo albums. He attends St Philip’s York Street in Sydney’s CBD.

The workshops are the powerhouse of Exalt. It’s in the workshops that we get down into the thinking and skills we need for church music ministry.
